Tactic 2: Know who you’re communicating with.
Distrust and caution are the parents of security. Benjamin Franklin.
Don’t fall for phishing attacks. Be wary of friend requests; are they legit? Are the ad’s legit?
Tactic 3: Make yourself hard to impersonate.
Long strong unique passwords. Separate passwords for different sites. 2-factor authentication. Use a password manager with a 15-character passphrase.
Tactic 4: Defend aggressively.
Keep programs patched; Be diligent!!. Keep anti-malware up-to-date. Encrypt laptops, smart-devices, and external hard drives. Use a business-class firewall.
Tactic 5: Be prepared.
Test backups regularly. Store backups off-line. And encrypt them.
